after the burglary
by Terri Light
though I've lost one pillowcase
and my telephone, a broken microwave,
the clapped-out vacuum cleaner and
the gold rings of my second failed marriageI have gained one tire iron
three-dozen fitful nights of sleep
and a handprint in organic honey
on the chalky dining room wall.a fair trade?
